Convertible seats have the seat belt harness connected to the headrest not the pillar like your coupe has...because of this the seat are reinforced and weigh about 85lbs each. Why would you want to do this?

i can get a full black leather e46 convertible interior for a really good price. perfect condition. HEATED, power, and memory seats. I can get the 2 front seats and the complete rear seats. I HATE my grey interior and thought that this could be my replacement but i guess not.

Anyone have a convertible that wants black leather front + rear seats?
ill accept offers... local only. north NJ, 10 minutes from NYC

I wanted to throw some vert seats I have into my sedan since the fronts are in good shape, wondering if anyone has completed this swap. Looks like the entire assembly would have to be swapped, or make brackets to hold them in? Are there other issues, already have seats, fitted them and did seatbelt delete in my sedan b pillars.

yes it is a sedan, I mentioned that in an earlier post. Vert seat is a little wide and the bolts on the floor are nowhere near the same as vert apparently. There may be a way to fit them but it is not readily apparent and would take some fabrication, not sure how safe that would make it.

I know, i was just pointing you to my post for more info. I wish someone who has done this would help out. I'm sure someone has done it, just not active. I think it will take some fabricating on the seat bracket to allow rails to widen stance and changing position of seat.
