Hi all

Recently got my self a 2005 320i convertible, the first couple of days I was able to open the roof via the key, holding the unlock button, but now that just won’t work I can’t work out why, does anyone know what could cause this? I can still open the roof fine by the buttons in the car, just not off the key.

Regards Ricky

I am in the same boat.
I think it is all down to voltage on the battery .
Mine is spot on but I only open the roof with the engine running, no probs so far :)

I have a 2001 330ci ‘vert - I am unfamiliar with this option? There’s a button on the fob that opens the roof?? That would be awesome - is this an option that came with later models?

you can open and close with the key slot. turn to the open or close position and hold, the windows will drop down and the the top open process, or you can close same way. if its programmed, it will do on or both via the unlock or lock buttons as well but i think that had to be programmed.

only restyle cars may have the remote comfort opening/closing.
pre restyle can have it too but after coding.

this doesn't means that ALL rest. cars have it enalbed from factory (most of them does)

in most cars (mine was) have to be enabled via INPA or BMWscanner ;)

@Chamb0 , take a look at voltage battery. If battery is low, it may not have enough force to roll down windows...so the sequence don't start.

The battery is fine, it will roll back the roof with the key but will not put the roof back up also with the key.
Using the door lock does nothing :(

Maybe the setting was lost somehow. Do you have a scanning tool?
Just lent it to my lad so will have a look later.
