control arm symptoms

My control arms need to be changed. I just received them in the mail from Bavarian auto.com. What i've started to notice while I was waiting on them to come, is my front driver-side wheel seems to get this black substance on it. It's not your normal reddish rust colored brake dust. Is that a result of bad control arms? With an outta whack control arm slinging grease or lubricant everywhere, is it a possibility that, that may be what is creating all that dirt on the wheel. Just wondering. I'm getting the new control arms put on this week.

A bad control arm will not sling grease on your wheel. That would most likely happen from a bad wheel bearing. You also might have a caliper siezing/leaking, which would cause excessive brake dusting/oil on your wheel. Really need more info to help you in diagnosis. Chas.
