Connector found under dash, please help me identify it!

Hi all,

Whilst replacing my head unit, I accidentally removed this strange looking plug from somewhere underneath the steering wheel.

I've been hopelessly been looking where it came from. Can someone help me out? thanks!!

Looks like a coaxial antenna plug. Check the radio.

Looks like some kind of fiber optic cable. Any kind of aftermarket electronics?

Do you have a convertible?

I am going to guess:
1. broken fakra terminal for antenna
2. GPS antenna connector - convertible has a GPS antenna in the dash right above the cluster. If you remove the cluster (easy) you can reach in and find it attached there.

Not sure either is right, but guesses

Follow where that cable connects. That will give a clue.

Thanks all! Yes indeed it is concerning a convertible. Monday I’ll rip out the cluster and see what’s what. Thanks for the support

Look up the end of it.

"fiber optics" are used to transmit light some of the remote lighting locations...

It’s wired into the main harness so I’m unable to track it to its origin, I’ll see what i can find Monday. Thanks

Yes to this. It is my guess also.

Do we know why 'verts have a GPS? Were they tracking us back in the day? Don't have the nav radio.

I have the nav and a gpa antenna above the cluster. Maybe just left that wire in the harness for all verts regardless of options?
