Hey everyone! Ok so, my 323ci has started making some clunking noises from the front left tire. I have coilovers and they have been on the car since I bought it.

Recently I got told by a inspector that the front left coilover was leaking a little, but that it was nothing to be concerned about. But after he discovered it the car started to make a clunking noise whenever i go over bumps and even while going on a pretty smooth road and it is getting worse and worse.

My question is, is it the coilover that is leaking making the noise? If so can I fix it or do I just simply have to get new ones?

Before you go that route have a close look at the front end components on that side. Loose ball joint, loose tie rod, loose lug nuts, loose blots will give you a nice clunk as well, so will a loose caliper bolt or too much play in the sliders/pads etc. A real good inspection may find the issue. Rule out all the simple stuff before moving to the expensive stuff.
