Hi, I had my lower control arm bushing changed, payed 100$ + oil change.
I would have done if I could lift my car myself!

So if you have that opportunity (the lift) you can do it

This are the steps



I have three pictures while my car was up!

I have marked the bolts and screws with stars!

first set is three red stars (3 screws)
then continue on red stars bolts (4,5,6,7,8,9,10,11) be careful the aluminum protector will fall on you!!! hold it when you are about to unscrew 10 and 11 bolts.
Then you will see the bushings, left and write on the picture is new ones with only two bolts fastened on the body or frame(two other photos).

then you will see on the right side bolts (green stars 1,2) on the left side bushing two bolts (blue stars 1,2) undo them and proceed to taking off the bushings.

I bought the set of my bushings from bavarian auto sport, for 70$ with aluminum brackets.

If they are worn out you can pull them out with rotating and pulling them out, if it will be hard you can use WD-40 and some holding and squeezing tools.

then for easy putting them back, you can use a soap water, so easy to put them back on (the new ones)

After putting everything back, tight up the bolts and last three screws back, by back order!

And wallah, you are gonna have a new car!

Notice! I haven't changed my arms completely cause they were and still are in a good condition! (even dealer said to not replace them(believe it or not, but they said thing like that sometimes :) )

I hope this will help a little bit!

Were the new bushings already pressed or did the shop do that as well?

Also, was wondering where you had them changed at and if you recommend them.

Sorry for late response.
I would recommend them, pm me

I bought bushings pressed in aluminum brackets, so you have to just replace the whole thing its easier...

PM me I will tell you also where to get them a wholesale price ;) :thumbup:

shouldn't be an issue so long your using a jack stand and not the jack to hold the car up.

Perfect. I was just going to replace the bushings, but is it worth replacing the control arms too? While I'm down there.

Any tips on not wrecking the bushing while trying to press in on?

When i took my control arm out the ball joints on the arm were blown out and had way too much play in them.

Get new arms by Meyle that have replaceable ball joints. You'll be glad you did because the steering stiffens up by quite a bit.

You got many miles on the OEM arms?

As far as I know they are original. Car has 138,000 as of today. I've had the car for 3 years now.

Oh yeah I bet they are due to be replaced. I replaced mine at 142,000 and they were toast.

The new ZHP arms that I installed fixed my mushy steering right up though.

Mine is a 330i with sport suspension. Is there a diff. in meyle hd arms and the others? I want to make sure I get the right ones..
