Changed Blower Motor Resistor Now No Blower

My A/C blower was periodically not coming on and pulsing at other times. So, I replaced the blower motor resistor tonight. Now, the blower will not come on at all. I reinstalled the old one to make sure it wasn't the new resistor. But, still no blower.

I checked the blower fuses and they look ok. The controller unit appears to be working ok. When I press the A/C button, I hear the compressor kick on. There's just no air coming out the vents.

Does anyone have any ideas of what I might have done? Is the little motor I had to move out of the way to get to the resistor possibly involved?

Hey. I was wondering of you were able to figure out the problem. A few weeks ago my vents stopped blowing air. I changed the fsu, still nothing. The other day I got a new blower motor, still nothing. I checked the fuses with my electrical tester. I actually ohmed it out. They were good. Now I'm stumped.

My destiny is in my hands, therefore I am.

Blower not blowing.

So! I checked to see if power was going to my motor and it wasn't, duh. I replaced fsu, motor, and yet nothing. Checked fuses, they are fine. PancakeBimmer, I checked out that link that you sent me of the wiring diagram and it really didn't help at all. Maybe I was using the link wrong:hmm:. I dunno, either way I need help.:banghead:

You said motor does not get power. Well, troubleshoot it.
  1. Check if there is ground contact at blower motor connector
  2. Test positive wire between FSR and blower
  3. Check blower output voltage at FSR
  4. Test FSR input voltage and ground wire connection
  5. Doesn't hurt to check output from IHKA to FSR. Just because IHKA module works and turns-on AC, it does not mean that everything else works. I have a light control module with one I/O go bad (responsible for left rear outer parking light).

If you looked at diagrams then you would know that early production cars have "Heating blower relay" (K4) which could go out. Your listed car is 1999 328i, so find out production date...

I'm pretty good at reading wiring schematics, I do heating and ac for a living so I deal with wiring schematics on a daily. The link you sent me took me to a page what looked like an indication of what diff colors and symbols mean but no wiring schematic visible. If I had an actual wiring schematic I can then trace and see where everything is. That's wierd that I'm listed as 99 330i. I have an 02 330ci. The manufacturer date is 02 from what I saw on the plate. I tried searching the web for a wiring schematic but no luck. Btw, I didn't mean to offend if I did by my last message.
