hi, i just got an alpine s-630 changer w/ a blitzsafe adaptor for a '99 328i. My first problem is locating the connecting pins. I removed the carpeting on the left side and found some unconnected wires, but the only connectors I found were a 3 pin and a 26 pin one (the adaptor needs a 3 pin and 6 pin). I'm thinking this isn't the wire I need so where do I find the correct one? Is it under the plastic tray (if it is any tips on removing that tray would be appreciated)? Finally, where do you think the best place to mount the changer would be if I'm not concerned w/ trunk space...the rear shelf or on that plastic tray? Sorry for the long post, I just wanted to be as clear as possible. Thanks.

When you lift up the "floor" of the trunk, you'll see two plastic pins holding down the tray. Using a flat-head screw driver, gently pry the inside part of the pin out, and then the outside part will come out. Be patient---they're a pain to get out.

If space is truly not a concern, I'd say the cleanest installation would be to get the navigation brackets and replacement liner and tray. Under the parcel shelf is a good location if trunk clearance is of no concern. Installing it in the plastic tray would be the most space-efficient, but no OEM mounting accessories exist for this.

Thanks for the reply. I found the correct wires and connected them to the adaptor. The only problem i'm having now (it's a pretty big one) is that the head unit (stock) cycles through the CDs but never stops to play one and when I try to select which CD I wanna play, nothing happens. I ran through a reset procedure w/ the people at crutchfield, but still nothing. They're sending me another adaptor and changer so I can figure out if something's defective. Has this happened to anyone else?
