Replace Fuel Pump and Sensor this last April. Fuel Pump seized this past week in garage after last shutdown. My BMW specialist asked whether just filled with Arco gas which answer was YES. He advised TSB on Winter Gas mix adding more Ethanol which causes Fuel Pump to seize. TSB advises using on Top Tier Gasolines, which have now learned Arco is not. Specialist stated he has had multiple cars in last two weeks with this issue using Arco gas in Phoenix area. Switch gas and save yourself some potential issues.

Just because you go to a brand of gas station that doesn't insure that that is the brand of gas that they are pumping. It is legal in CA for any gas station to use any kind of gas

He is talking about >10%... 10 is pretty much a threshold, anything above requires the engine be designed with that formulation in mind.

Just sent a message to ARCO to register a complaint and advise repair costs. Will post an update when they respond. Their website states their gasoline is a Top Quality Gasoline. Later I will also post the BMW TSB where they specifically state which gasoline is a Top Tier Gasoline. My BMW specialist also told me BMW can not cover warranty issues, mine is not in warranty, if you do not use Top Tier Gasoline. For instance he mentioned a case with excessive carbon build-up that BMW would not warranty. Just some more FYI.

Ethanol in gas is a sham. Prices haven't gone down and it doesn't get as good mileage as pure gas....thereby decreasing efficiency. They're trying to weed all the older cars off the road. EPA is a bunch of power Nazis. There is a petition online to bring back pure gas, as many people have had trouble in lawn equipment, boats, antique cars, etc, etc.

That is all.

ARCO gas does not have more ethanol than any other gas.
It could. Pumps say contains UP TO 10% ethanol. Could have 10%, could have 3%, hell, pobably could even go up to 15%.

what constitute a "name brand" gas station?
Shell, Exxon, BP, Sonoco. Nationwide known, not the local stuff. I've never heard of Arco out here, but we have Raceway and other local stuff that's pretty sh*tty gas.

I refer to Sheetz as a convenience store, not a gas station. It's get sucks. It's food doesn't suck so much.
