Carbon Fiber Mudguard Group Buy

Update 4/19: in the search for a new carbon manufacturer as the previous company would not commit to delivering on proper communications. Will maintain the round list unless anyone explicitly asks to be removed.

Hey wagon gang,

With E46 touring mudguards being well out of production at this stage, there are few options other than looking to scrap yards (good luck) or finding a used set.

Given the current demand for more Touring parts, I've reached out to multiple manufacturers to commission a set. While my original intent was to find a plastic manufacturer, I've since made a connection with [OMITTED] who manufactures—you guessed it—carbon mud guards and flaps. While much of their work is layered and cut, they have molding capabilities as well to provide an OE replica of the E46 Touring guards.

We have worked to a group buy price of $200 for the set of 4 guards molded to OE Spec in either matte or gloss carbon, shipped ConUS.
The estimated production time for the first set of 10 is 4 weeks from the close of the Group Buy

Round 1
1. ArtifactsInMotion (Matte)
2. ///Mark_D (Matte)
3. vtwagon (matte)
4. Jakl (matte)
5. JoeTan (matte)
6. Archbid (matte)
7. Tbouchard991 (matte)
8. Crossworth1 (matte)
9. Dadw6n (matte)
10. Not_Special (gloss)

Round 2
11. thebfg (matte)
12. thetangstr (matte)
13. stiegmanjr (matte)

Note: I am not receiving any compensation from [OMITTED], merely facilitating the thread because I initiated the discussion, and I really want some damn mudguards :)

I would think the silence is due to uncertainty. The idea is that these will be replicas of the factory mud guards, so if the factory mud guards fit an MTech II rear bumper, these should as well. If and should being the key words there.
I get that there are uncertainty, but a simple response like yours would be appreciated for those with the same concern.
I wanna say that the shape of the regular rear bumper and the MTech II bumper is the same at the wheel arch, and only changes as you transition rearward... But without having each of the two bumpers side by side, I can't say for sure. It's hard to tell just by looking at photos.

Does anyone who's done a rear bumper swap still have their standard bumper on hand to compare? With the original mud guards being flexible plastic, it's possible the material would account for any difference in bumper shape. Not so much with rigid carbon fiber.

I guess we'd also want to confirm the same thing is true with the standard side skirts and MtechII side skirts. I've actually got both of those that I could lay them side by side. The difference in style lines on those doesn't start for a few feet rearward of the front wheel arch. Where it actually meets up with the fender it appears to have the same curve.

I have both rear bumpers I can do a side by side with this weekend. I had ordered a set of mud guards off Amazon I will use to compare. I have both side skirts as well and can confirm both are the same upfront.

I'm in for a set of gloss if they fit the MTech II rear bumper on my 330i ZHP.
Love the initiative getting this done. I've been randomly searching for a while. Never thought to ask for someone to manufacture new ones. Rad?
Put me down for a set of Matte and let me know when and where to send the dollar bills. Thanks
Regarding the MTech vs standard bumper, digging through RealOEM, both my car (US spec ZSP car) and a euro 330d Msport both have the same part number listed for the rear flaps.

I know these are not factory, but that is at least a good sign

Hello to all you Wagon Masters. I have been searching (unsuccessfully) for a few years for mudguards for my 2004 325 iT. I ordered my first wagon in 2000 with mudguards & bought the second one used without them. It’s become a big problem with my winter tires & I would love to join in the group purchase. Please advise how we do this. Matte is my preference, but I will buy anything that fits.

Here is a pic of OEM Touring mud flaps taken before the GA auto transporter damaged it.
If you are wondering…this was Shawn’s s54 swap Touring headed to California circa 2021.

Reporting back on fitment between the stock and M Tech rear bumper. Wheel arch area is the same but the bottom curve is different. The Amazon mudguards I bought fit perfectly on the stock bumper but not on the M Tech.
Please put me down for matte set for the next round!

Excuse the dirty car. After some adjustment, I got the rears to fit 99%. Fronts were 100% perfect fitment. Pretty good buy for $50 on Amazon.

Is that on an MTech? Looks good enough!
Thanks! Yup, full M Tech II kit on the touring.

Looks great! Good job with the fitment. Could you share the link or name of the particular product?
