Help, my car won't lock with the fob, and every time I get in the car the dash beeps a bunch and it does the same thing when I get out. The key fob won't lock the car so I have to use the actual key in the door, how do I fix this?

I believe the most common GM5 module problems are failure to unlock?

Simple test, borrow a spare key and attempt to program it to your car.

How do you know it is not the keyfob battery??

If the keyfob is original, it is likely failed or on the way out?

What beeping from the dash are you referring to?

Maybe the ignition switch is bad and thinks the key is still in the ignition? This may be why the car cannot be locked with the keyfob?

It's like a half second repetitive beep,
Te ignition sticks some times and I have to force the key to turn (approx. 20-30 ft.lb torque) then it clicks and goes
You may be right, I'm gonna take it to apple bmw in a few weeks if it doesn't work, any other thoughts?

It sounds like it has something to do with your car not recognizing that the key has been removed from the ignition. If thats the case, it could explain why you hear that beeping momentarily. Also explains why you're having issues

I am almost 100% sure this has to do with your car thinking the key is still in the ignition

Put the brakes on the GM5 module for the moment, deal with the basics first. Best to have the GM5 module repaired if it turns out to be the issue. No coding or programming required if you get your module repaired.

Before you go buying a gm5 module, contact a member on here called.scottjoh. he is well known as being the guru of the gm5. His answer would be law when it comes to the gm5. I would only heed his expert advice. There is nothing about the gm5 module that he doesnt know

Find scottjoh. Get his advice first before firing your guns. It doesnt matter how much it costs because you will not want to know. On top of that, I thought a bit of programming is required
