Hi All, I have been trying to get a 2001 326Xi started after it sat for a couple months. When I first got to the car the battery was low so I fully charged it and went to start the car. The car started very roughly then sputtered and died. I have not gotten it to start since. I found the fuel pressure to be very low at the rail so I cleaned the filter. This gave me much better pressure at the rail, shooting out rather than dribbling.

The pump runs as and when it should.

So far the only time the car fires is when I turn it over for a while with the fuel pump disconnected. It almost seems as if the car is flooding itself.

Any Ida's on what to check next?

Thanks,
Tim

Hold the throttle to the floor while cranking the engine. Do not crank for more than 30 seconds at a time so to not over heat the starter. Wait at least 1 minute between cranking attempts.

Holding the throttle floored while cranking shuts the injectors off, puts the engine in Clear/Flood mode.

Likely the engine is flooded and the fuel is old.

If the engine starts, keep in running for at least 5 minutes before you shut it down again.
