Hey guys I have a carbonschwarz E46 sedan and I wanted to restore my calipers since they look rusty, however I cannot really decide on the color for the calipers.
My current thoughts are these;
-Brembo bronze/gold-ish color
-Blue like the new M cars with the sticker on it
-a nice tone of silver

And if you guys advice can you also pleaseeee give color codes? thx

i put a picture of the bronze I meant too

You need to decide what it is you are really trying to accomplish. Is it all about the rust or are you looking to introduce an accent color to your vehicle.

Your rims have a lot of spokes that are going to obscure the view of the calipers regardless of the color your chose. Silver will show the least as it will almost blend with your rim color. Bronze/gold will provide a subtle hint of color and blue would stand out the most though I'd personally not use the M-color with non-M calipers.

Are you planning on replacing the stock calipers with larger ones or just using what you have? The stock calipers aren't that big so painting them a loud/bright color would only draw attention to the fact you have the smaller stock calipers.

If you're just trying to just get rid of the rust and not worried about introducing an accent color then I'd recommend just painting them silver or black. Whatever you decided, good luck with your project :)

if you have just the stock calipers, they’re really not very sexy.
just paint them gloss black.

For stock brakes I always go silver. From the factory they were plated with a silver colored anti-corrosion coating so I'm mainly going for that look and to match the silver on the coated rotors. The caliper paint below is eastwood 2k silver and I put on a handful of coats to build up thickness and prevent rust.

well you could split the difference and go with a golden Cad plating. it’s kinda like a silver-gold color. some brakes calipers come stock with it.

as for sexy brake calipers, BMW really was late in the game compared to others. even the CSL (BMW’s flagship E46) still only got black powder coated single piston calipers.
