ok, so i know i asked a bunch of you guys about how to put your OEM knob back on and i got a consensus that it just popped back on. however, no matter how hard i shoved mine it just wouldn't go back on.

so i finally got my rkiii and it wouldnt go on either. i talked to rob from uuc and he was really helpful, and he figured out that the core of my old OEM knob actually was stuck on the shifter! since i had never replaced a shift knob before, i had no idea that this piece was supposed to come off.

here is a pic:

well, so today i am going over to my dealer and they are going to take off the core of the old knob so i can finally install my rkiii (also, having no knob for the past 3 weeks has been a real pain!)

i will let you all know how it goes. hopefully i can get the core of the old knob back in it so i can use my old knob again... i just got a new face for my OEM knob that has the //m logo in it:

bookus11,

nice, i see you got the //m illuminated...

get some pics up. I took my RK3 out for the rest of the winter... and put my //m illuminated again. the SS rk3 is fricking cold! and it takes forever to warm up!!!! i hate wearing gloves when i'm driving so it's back to the soft leather of my m wheel and m knob. the Rk3 did break-in my SSK nicely though.

agreed, the UUC knobs get DAMN cold, and in the summer, i anticipate that it will get really hot with my black interior... i just consider it incentive to shift faster :D
