So my transmission went out a few months ago and I was finally able to get it into a shop to get it looked at. Turns out that my reverse gear fork broke.

Id like, if at all possible to avoid replacing the who transmission and get a new core or single part for it

Can anyone here help?

its a non smg Getrag 420G that needs a new reverse gear fork

Note: im not much of a car guy

Starting about a decade ago, BMW starting making individual internal parts for the transmissions and differentials not available. Furthermore they removed them from the ETK.

The BMW manual transmission Guru; Jim Blanton retired about the same time.

You might (?) have some luck by contacting Eriksson Industries 1 800 388 4418?
They do VG work on ZF Automatics and I've heard a rumor that they can do some manual gearboxes.

The real issue is not knowledge, rather the total lack of parts.
Good luck.
