My 325Ci came from factory with Bremi coils installed and they are still running strong after 19+ years. They are OE.

 

Bremi are ow, but there was a recall for these years ago

 

Bremi and Bosch are both OEM for earlier E46s (that use a bolt-secured coil vs. the press/clamp-secured newer ones).

They are perfectly fine to use in that application:

The aftermarket Bosch coils have given me nothing but grief - had three of six new ones fail within 45 days. Went to the local pick-your-part place and bought a bunch of used factory coils and haven't had a problem since. You may have better luck than I did, but I think TobyB may have made the best Freudian slip of the week - Botch coils. Sounds like my experience.

 

Alternate experience with Bosch aftermarket. I picked up a set from Amazon and it's been great for 80k miles.
