Woah. That is one hard to read post. Could you please describe again what it is you do when you hear or feel the clunk? Except this time use punctuation.

You may get better help if your question can be understood by someone else reading it.

There are many bushings back there for you to check! First you can check the trailing arm bushings and then you can check the 8 or 9 different Differential Bushings. Make sure the rubber in the bushings aren't cracked anywhere...Good Luck!

It sounds like it could be either transmission or engine mounts. Try putting the putting the parking brake on and have a friend shift it back and forth from drive to reverse slowly while you watch what is going on under the hood. Watch for excessive movement of the engine. If you can get the car up on four jackstands, you can do the same test while you are looking from underneath the car (safety very important issue here, don't try it if you don't know what you are doing).

It could also be a U-Joint, broken CV axles, or something gone wrong in the differential.

Have you had brake work done recently? I had these symptoms once on an old Toyota Camry, and it ended up being one of the caliper bolts fell out. Hold the brake tightly when shifting from park to reverse. If it is a fallen caliper bolt, it should not make the noise if the car does not move. If it does make the noise, then you can probably rule out the brakes.

Since you know it does it when shifting from park to reverse, I would focus on having a friend repeat that while you kneel down beside each wheel and listen and watch the brakes.

Could you describe the tugging you are speaking of in more detail? It tugs and then jerks back?

You have to trouble shoot each part that people are telling you so you can rule out what it is not.

Good luck
