ok, i'm a newbie DIY'r with a question. I took my front wheels off to inspect the brake pads, but as far as I can tell, on both fronts (outside pads) there is none left?

question, if you are looking at the say the left wheel, left (outside) pad, looking down from the top... here is a pic.

now, if i look top down at the inside pad, i can see some left... or is that big thick metallic looking piece, actually the pad itself? if so, then the inside pad is worn extremely unevenly.

i'm a more experienced diy'r on my motorcycle, so it might just be my inexperience speaking.

Looks to me like you have alot of meat left on the pads, but as you noted they are wearing unevenly.

from that shot, they look ok.
but for reference, I change the pad once they wear down to the same width or less of the backing plate
