Alright, I have searched and found no similar problem so I am reaching out to all of the loyal and great e46 ers. I had to cut my hand brake cable to cut it off when I took my trailing arm off. It was seized on the trailing arm and the cable would not pass through the channel by the differential. I had hoped that a new cable would install easier but this does not appear to be the case. The cable metal end that seats near the front just will not pass. I think the channel is rusted to the point that it has delaminated just enough to prevent the cable from going through. At this point I am considering dropping the differential to have better access. That seems crazy and a $20 fix to a $5 problem. Any advice or thoughts?
