Okay so I've done plenty of searching through the threads about exhaust options for my 2003 325i. I want to do something to the exhaust to make it sound louder but still clean and not too much drone. I've been thinking about the muffler delete but I can't decide if just removing both resonators would be a better option. (Cleaner sounding?) I've looked all over youtube but I figured it would be better to get people's opinions.

Also if I choose to go with the muffler delete where can I buy tips from? and do I need to buy the pipe or should a muffler shop have that?

I'm not a fan of either, but if I were going to do this it would only be a muffler delete. Don't touch your resonators.

Tips can be found almost anywhere,.....try Ebay.

If you can't weld, have a shop do this for you. Shop it around for the best price, this will be Very easy for a muffler shop.

Good luck.

try eurospec.com or dtmspec.com also, most of the big exhaust companies sell tips (magnaflow/borla/etc)

ebay could be the most cost effective but just giving you some options

Sorry for the thread jack but I feel this is relevant, I just got an eisenmann race muffler and it doesn't sound a whole lot different. If I delete both resonators will I be happy? Want more aggressive sound, what do you guys think?

Yes removing atleast 1 res will make it sound more "aggressive" or you can opt to buy the eisenmann midpipe as linked below. Although the Eisenmann race muffler should sound a bit more aggressive than a stock 330 exhaust so I'm confused as to how it doesn't sound much different because it really should unless you have the SPORT exhaust. It should sound like this (2nd link below and one of our members on the forum as well, forgot the name I believe it's Don B)

GL!

AS FOR OP: I would just save for a real exhaust system but to answer your question.. keep it at a muffler delete and DO NOT remove the resonators or else it'll sound TERRIBLE. (It's already not gonna sound all that great getting a muffler delete as is, so removing the res is a big no no) GL!

Jake, I am in Clarkston and was thinking about doing the Muffler Delete as well. I would be curious to see what you find in out location as far as pricing and who will do it.

My car is an 01 330 with sport package, and butterfly valve seized open that probably has something to do with it

I ended up getting it done and I like it. It is loudest around 2-2.5k RPMs which might not be to everyone's liking. It adds a nice growl. I got it done in Pontiac Michigan at a place called Callahans brakes and mufflers for $100. However, they didn't have tips there so I will be buying some online and bringing them in for them to weld on. I would love to save for a real exhaust system but being a working 20 year old college student, I don't have that kind of money.

Any chance in meeting up so I can hear it? I work in Auburn Hills and live in Clarkston.

Also, have you been on the expressway with it? I drive to Lansing every couple weeks.

Keep your eyes open for good used systems.
I cobbled mine from an X-Pipe bought from a member and a new Magnaflow.
Nice growl with NO drone, quiet at highway speeds.

Yeah we can meet up. I haven't been at a constant expressway speed yet. At constant 55mph it's just as quiet as with the muffler. I'm sure 70-75 mph is about the same.
