Does anyone know if you bore out a wheel hub from 72 like on the E46's to an E39 hub of 74, do the center caps have to be replaced? Does the bore go all the way thru? If not you should be able to use them? Just trying to get an idea if anyone knows.
#1 centerboring a wheel is dicey business. Unless you have solid info that indicates the wheel will still be strong enough once it's drilled, it's a bad idea.
#2 the centerbore only has to be as deep as the hub (the circle of material that sticks up off the brake rotor). The center cap hole is independent of the centerbore. So just drilling the centerbore shouldn't screw up your center caps.
