Went in to clear/fix this code at my local dealer: P1470 "Leakage Diagnostic Pump Control Circuit Electrical" ... but now say my car is reading out new codes that said faulty in the thermostat, temperature air sensor, and that "he could not change the faulty LDP wiring because the purge canister was broken.." I'm at RealOEM.com ..

My question is which is the purge canister 01 or 02, and is that a difficult install? I've been reading the forum that the thermostat/temperature air sensor install are straight forward.. but I'm thinking of going to the dealer to do that install.

Just FYI.. I'm just your basic tune-uper/oil changer/"other fluids" ATF/transmission fluid/brakes.. thought maybe I could save over the $1900 dealer estimate if they weren't that difficult of an install :p

I believe so. I heard him speaking to the mechanic and he said, "Yes, the temperature sensor behind the intake manifold." I pulled the diagram ..

03 looks about right. Yes.. I might have to go and get that manual! Anyone with any experience replacing the purge canister? I think maybe I should let the dealer handle this, its an emissions problem.. always seem a little more trickier in finding the exact solution. When I asked him if the thermostat and the temperature sensor would make the SES light come on, he said yes they would but I thought SES was only for emissions?
