The San Diego and Central California chapters of the BMW CCA are putting on a HPDE track weekend at Buttonwillow in just over 2 weeks, October 29-30.

Cost is $499 for two days on track (likely 8 sessions and about 3.7 hours of total track time). Price includes in-car instruction during all sessions (unless you get signed off to drive solo), two lunches, Saturday night buffet dinner, and all the bottled water you can drink. All car marques welcome but convertibles not allowed unless they have fixed roll protection (usually must be an aftermarket roll bar).

The price is definitely higher than many other track days such as NASA, Speed Ventures, or ExtremeSpeed, but the other groups usually do not include in-car instruction except for first timers. Also the BMW CCA has one of the best safety records of any group putting on HPDEs. Deadline to sign up is October 17th. I've registered and plan to be there.

Edit: Also, the BMW CCA Golden Gate chapter is also hosting a 2-day HPDE at Thunderhill in Willows, CA (near Chico), November 12-13. Registration closes October 28. I plan to be there as a volunteer.
