Yep, and my wish came true.

I used to have a 2001 325Ci and traded in for a 2003 330Ci, same color and options except for the transmission. Even though I have lost alot of money, I am very happy now.

:)
How much did you loose...if you don't mind me asking? I'm seriously considering it!

I used to drive a 01 325i which is now my sisters and now my current 330ci. If youre gonna keep the same transmission, i personally don't think it's worth it. The power difference isn't that surprising.

Yeah so do I but I want more power in the 0-60 range.

It urks me when my current rental car a Pontiac Grand Am had more HP and Torque than my 325 but it's a piece of shiat for $19k. But damnit $17k premium over this car should buy me ALOT more.

I'm also sick of the 325 always being downplayed and overshadowed by the 330. It's as though the 325 doesn't exist and BMW themselves do this also. They make it seem like the 325 is the poor mans BMW which at $36k, I don't know what kind of poor man can afford my 325ci. I'm sure some people in Europe feel the same with their 318's and 320's. The problem I have is that my 325 has me at times saying "where's the beef?". I have a good fresh sesame seed bun, fresh lettuce, tomato, and all the fixins I want but I open the bun and there's this little patty of beef. I bite into it and the everything is good but it's like to much bread and not enough beef. At the end it was gooood....but you have a taste for more beef.

was about to say it, if u get the 5M, the car can be pretty peppy. if u cant swing a 330 now, get the 325, then SC it when warrantee is up, and u will smoke any 330 that comes ur way

After driving a Z3 2.5l

I wish i have the 2.5 Z4, but i love the creature comforts of my 325ci (ok i think that's a oxymoron), but I just toy with the idear of getting a 2.8 litre manual Z3 or a M roadster every once in a while.
hmmm...

I wish I had the power of the 330, but I'm more than happy with my 325. It does exactly what I want it to do, and its right within the powerband that I'm comfortable with and can handle. I'm not the type to jump into a car that's powered like the ///M3 and expect myself to know what I'm doing....therefore, once I'm ready for a car with more power, I'll get it; until then, my 325 suits my needs. I had a 2002 325i with Step, Sport, Premium and BiXenon's. I just traded it 31January2003 for a 330i 5-Speed, Sport, Premium and BiXenon's.

With all Tax's and Fee's the difference between the two was $10,500. MSRP difference between the cars was about 5k. Taxes and Fee's were about $1,200.00 give or take. So, basically, I lost 4k or so. But, for the 4k I drove the car for almost a year and put 12,000 Miles on it. Personally, I think I did alright.

I did have a couple of advantages. This was the third BMW I was buying from them in just over two years. Plus, the 330 had been there since October 2002, so they obviously wanted it gone. Also, my car was low miles and absolutely flawless. The interior was spotless as was the exterior.

Yep, I've thought many times about exchanging for a 330 but then I keep going back to the idea of an SC instead. The 325 really isn't that bad since it's stick. The only thing that is swaying me the other way again is that the 330 is going to be coming with a 6 speed tranny in the near future. I may just have to test drive that bad boy and see what's up.

And for the record, it was not the 2.5L that made me want to trade, it was having the StepTronic. I have driven nothing but Manual's my entire life and I got an Automatic E46. It was really stupid on my part.

So, when I decided to trade, I knew I was going to lose some money. I decided to take the loss once and get what I really wanted. The 330, in my opinion, is such a drastic change. The car just screams for me. I have not even got it broken in yet and it just pulls so much more. The 2.5 always felt like I was pushing it, but the 3.0 just begs for more. Now granted, a lot of that is tranny. Something about a manual just begs to be driven more aggressively. Plus, you do not have the Torque Converter taking up horsepower.

All in all, if my 325 had been a manual, I would probably still own it. But, the 330 is just awesome.
