Hi guys,
Well, I got a 323i 2000 that I bought couple of months ago and it has started draining the battery. It actually does it once in a while i could happen every one week or maybe in a month. I thought it was the alternator and it is not because I replaced it for a brand new one. Also the battery is new. I have notice though that the A/C blower remains on when I turn off the car. However, after a while it goes off or at least, I have not seen it staying on all night after I turn off the car. I have been checking some forums and It says that it could be the Final Stage Resistor but in those forums they also say that part of the problem is that the A/C goes off and on while driving and mine does not do that. Anyway, my questions are:

Is it normal that the car keep the A/C blower on after I turn off the car even for a while?
Does anybody have had or think that the FSR could be causing the issue?
Does anybody knows if there is a way to diagnostic this Final Stage Resistor.

Thank u guys for any help that you can give me.

Check the ground wire - if that is loose or corroded you will never get a proper charge and weird things will happen in regards to voltage. Pretty easy to mistake for a dead alternator or battery. Eventually the ground wire will completely disconnect at which point when you turn the key nothing will happen.

That happened to my car as well. The fan continued to run after key was off= dead battery. I simply didn't hear the fan running the first time, i was in a hurry. New FSR, problem solved. It isn't that difficult of a DIY, you just have to be a contortionist to work under the passenger side glove box area. You'll see, good luck with the fix.
