It's confirmed, we've had users remove the BMW Assist module and simply replace it with the Bluetooth module with 100% success. The Mic is already in place so that's one less step.

Is it true that we need to have navigation system for the bluetooth to work?

NO!! The Bluetooth is a self-contained system that doesnt even use anything related to NAV.....also, not to threadjack, but will someone give me their bmw assist if they take it off...ive been wanting one of these puppies to put in my late model 03

Thanks for the website. When i bought my car, i wanted bmw assist and my dealer told me i needed the phone and gps for this. so i got the phone and gps. But the new phones were bluetooth, so my car came first w/ bmw assist. then a week later i took it back to the dealer to install the phone (bluetooth phone). did they not know that it doesn't work together? i'm wondering if they took the bmw assist module out because my bluetooth works. i don't even know how to find out if my bmw assist works...should i go back to the dealer and ask about this, they dont seem to know too much about this
