Hi all,

I made it over to Florida and currently in the process of selling my 316i ES in the UK.

Now I'm looking to get a US standard BMW sedan for under $20k.
I've been on NADA.com, kbb.com and craigslist (dunno if I trust what's on there) and it appears like it's only the 328's in my local vicinity (100 radius of SW FL) that fit this price range.

Just wondering what the general going rate is for the best model in other necks of the US woods.

My criteria:
- 4 door only
- not a nasty colour
- as low mileage as possible
- auto/manual (not bothered either way)

Well what year(s) are you looking at? Or does model year not matter if the mileage is low? Those 328's you were looking at were probably pretty new. And I'm guessing you won't be wanting AWD since you'll be living in Florida... haha

As new as possible would be nice, they change up the trim every few years so some can look dated (I'm superficial I know ), but on the other hand - if it still looks sweet, and mileage is low then I'd definitely be interested.

Yeah the 328's were 2006/07.

AWD wouldn't be so bad, there's been a hell of a lot of rain coming down here on the gulf!
But RWD would be fine also...

Oh sorry I saw his location says Ireland I think that one was in bradenton...just search on autotrader.com theres quite a few under 20 throughout the state...

I honestly think he is asking about the E90's not the E46 as he was saying for under 20k. I'm pretty sure he knows you can get an E46 for much less than that.

I'm open to suggestions - had no idea what the going rate is over here for BMW sedans. The types you get in the US can differ to what's available in Europe.

Initially I heard they all pretty much come fully loaded over here (seen as a luxury car) so assumed a newish decent one would be up nearer the 17-20k mark.

Thanks everyone so far for the suggestions, I'll definitely read up on the ZHP's and E90's, but also looking for M3's too (insurance may be a killer!)
