ECIS if you're on a budget and GruppeM if you don't mind shelling out the $$$.

Ironically, the performance gains are pretty much the same across the board when it comes to intakes.

Where is the best place to purchase ECIS?
SPP carrys the ECIS, but I would rather get a GruppeM anyday
GruppeM fo sho :)
^^ Indeed. Just bought mine. Can't wait to get it in mail.
Gruppe M is my choice, but ECIS would be my #2..
ECIS for the best bang for the buck (especially 323/328), GruppeM if you have money to burn.

Also, I can't believe no one has mentioned this, but :search::search::search: The intake topic has been discussed in at least 10 previous threads.

:hi: Go to www.ecisbmw.com and check the Intakes out. One of the best selling points for me, was the fact that these Intakes are Cali CARB Certified. In other words, you'll pass your Smog Inspection with one.

OK, so this may be a stupid question, but how much louder over stock in an intake such as the ECIS? I am trying to keep it as close to stock sounding as possible (got sick of previously car...acura with I/H/E) and want to keep that nice quiet ride. I would like to get the Shark but feel that it is a bit of a waste without the added power it gives you with an intake. Thanks.

If you want something that will make you smile every time you hit the throttle...get a GruppeM. Bought mine and haven't ever regretted it, thing looks awesome and sounds even better!

the addition of any intake will have a noticeable increase in volume under acceleration. the car will not sound anywhere near stock.

my GruppeM is pretty quiet below 3,500, under normal driving conditions...when i get aggressive with the throttle or bring the revs up to 5,500 or so, it ROARS.

Shark you ask?? Do a :search: and you'll find out but in a nutshell, it's a software reprogrammer, eliminates speed and rev limiter and makes your bimmer a bit peppier....
what's the best price for Gruppe M? .. how many hp does it gain for just an intake?

Rennsport is the best place to get it, not sure what the price is now, but Samir will get you the best price out there!

Should net somewhere in the ballpark of 10-14hp.
GruppeM

Also, :search: is your friend. This has to be the most frequently discussed topic on this site.
Hey fanatics,I dont understand why the mods just dont make a sticky for intakes, exhausts, etc for noobs.Wouldnt you think having a sticky listing brands, sites, prices would be easier then repeating the same answer or searching?Maybe easier said then done

My .02 cents :dunno:
