Sup fellas,
As some of you may remember from my prior posts that my mom is looking for a car (at first an Audi, but we decided it wasnt the best choice). So, after much test driving and bargaining, we're down to our final 2 options (the best options in my opinion), the Benz s430 or the Bimmer 745i .... please no flame guys, it's for mom.
Here's the situation so far, Caliber Motors (Benz) is willing to offer $1000 over invoice ($69,815) , which would make the car come $75,469 with tax and fees. Century BMW (BMW obviously) didnt have a 745i in their fleet as of yesterday (they only had one 745Li...mom doesnt want the long version), so it was hard for the dealer to quote us a price. But he did say that the 745i will most likely be $2,000+ change more than the Benz (around $78,000 out hte door).
My question is this...I've been told that BMW dealers are harder to bargain with in general than Mercedes because Mercedes actaully gives rebates back to the dealerships so the dealers can afford to sell at invoice or even below invoice. But BMW doesnt do anything liek that, so BMW dealers cannot sell for invoice and are harder to bargain with. Is this true? Both mom and I want the BMW 745i, but of course it's better if we can bargain a little and get a discount. If anyone has a 745i or knows someone who bought one, pls help a fellow Bimmer fanatic out.
BTW...we live in Souther Cali (LA).
Tks guys
