You can also put in the last 7 of your vin on realoem and the site will narrow the parts to your specific car.

 

You can replace just the pulley. Will see if I can find the correct Ina part number.

That's what I thought too... but that's the idler pully, not the tensioner pully. I don't think I can replace just the tensioner pully. I believe I have to buy a whole new mechanical tensioner assembly.

 

Your version is the spring one.
As Bali says, you can find the only pulley. But when I researched, the entire assembly in Italy costed less than 10€ more than the simple pulley, so I went for it being 22 years old.

 

BMW makes a belt roller kit for that(IE just replace rollers). I just did it on our 330xi(pt# 11-28-2-250-244).

 

I believe the pully in this kit is for the hydraulic tensioner only.

You can find just the replacement pulley as Bali indicated above. You can replace the entire assembly. Or you can replace with hydraulic version. Your choice.

 

Order the replacement pulley on Advanced Auto, Amazon or Autozone. Dayco 89133 pulley.

Some will say the Dayco pulleys will not last vs the INA version but I have had these on my car for years and they have been trouble free. Maybe I am just lucky.😀

When viewing the Dayco 89133 Amazon also recommends the Dorman 419-5007
Any difference besides the price?

 

Sorry, no clue on the differences. Dorman to me is good enough and works, but won't last very long. Up to you if you want to save a few dollars?

 

On a really tight budget tell next payday. I went ahead and ordered it on Amazon. Looks to be the same type of pully. 6203 Bearing. Looks like the pulley itself might have the same OD. I'll report back when it arrives.

 

FYI, link to replacement pulley I used. It's been flawless so far. E46 Belt Idler wheel problems. GL

 

Dorman 419-5007 pulley is a perfect fit. Bearing seems the same as others. This will do for now. Next belt change I'll get the whole tensioner unit.

 

Dorman has to be the last resort part I’d buy for a vehicle my fleet. My .02

 

I replaced the tensioner with the new hydraulic type

It's held with 3 bolts instead of two

The spring one can fail

Upgrade it

 

You're wasting money putting a cheap pulley on the old spring type tensioner
