A friend of mine keeps telling me my 2000 e46 has a button behind the pedal to make the car more aggressive. I thought he is crazy, because there is nothing there.

But there is that plastic part that stops the pedal from going any farther. Has anyone ever messed with it?

and what is this "button", my friend may be referring to?

He might be referring to the thing some automatics have that I believe turns off overdrive or something similar. Other than that he is talking out of his a$$

His audi a4 has 2 ways that his pedal can go, but thats besides the point. I dont have auto, maybe thats a bonus for them since they cant shift at whatever RPMs they choose to, except of course tiptronic.

But what about the stop for the pedal?

no, it's the kickdown switch for automatics.
when in manual mode, if you floor it, and it gets pressed, it will kickdown a gear.
if you hold it up to redline, it will shift it to the next gear.
i've noticed when in manual mode, if i accidentaly press it, it will skip second, and go into 3rd gear.
