I just received my set directly from BC racing. I have a 2000 323i with sport suspension. I ordered the I-02 which is non-M. They sent me the I-14 for an M3.

After waiting a week, and like a boy on Xmas morning, I open it to discover they sent me the wrong item I ordered, I was Furious. I immediately sent an email and hot a response back saying the only difference is the spring rate.

Here is the email reply.

Daniel, this is not a shipping error; *we ship the I-14 for all E46 applications as it fits all models. *The only difference between the I-02 and the I-14 model is that the I-14 has a 2Kg/mm higher spring rate in the rear. *From customer feedback, we have found that our customers prefer this setup. *We do not stock the I-02. *If you absolutely need the 10K rear spring rate we do have those springs in stock so you may convert it but we do not recommend this, once again based on customer feedback.

What are your thoughts??? Thanks so much guys.

First, give a link to your kit.

Second, call BC on the phone like you're a Brand New Customer. Ask a few basic questions about anything coilover related, then ask if they have the I-02 kit In Stock for a 2002 325I* with sport suspension. See what they say, if BC says they have a I-02 kit in stock, then they're full of it.

Good luck,

*You're throwing them off by using a Different model & year, fitment & part number will be the same.

I have a 03 330i sport, when I got my BC coils they were marked for an M3 as well. I installed them anyways and have never had any problems. The time I called them to order parts when I add shorter swift springs they were friendly and informative. like Rob said call them direct and ask a few questions.

Thanks guys, i called and they said that they don't carry the I-02 anymore due to customer feedback. Everything is the same except for the spring rates from what I was told. Front is 10k and rear 12k for m3 vs. 10k all around for non M. Soo, installed them and set at factory height settings till I get wheels. Set the dampening at 12/18. So far they are great.

The bc racing coilovers are universal between all e46 chassis. The M3 coilovers set will 100% fit your non-m without issues due to I have the exact same thing on my non-m as does everyone else. They are spec'd the exact same way so don't worry and enjoy them.

I had mine for three years now.
I finally stop at 12 from soft front, 14 from soft rear.
with the raw stiffer, the front sick up the bump first then when it reach the rear it's not as impact.
And the rear is what makes the car feel floaty, stiffer rear make it feel tigter.

A lot of people told me to set the rear softer , but it just doesn't make sense, since BMW have stiffer rear stock.
I have tried both setup.
IMO, softer front = stock driving style
Stiffer front= faster directional change, good in tight 90 degree sharp turns, poor in long curve. Understeer
Front and rear same= super understeer.
