I was detailing the rear of a 2002 325ci I just picked up. I noticed that the lenses for the backup lights are partially loose / pull away from the lighting housing. There is mold and mildew inside the light from moisture getting in. Lights still work as normal.

Is this a known / common issue?

Can the lenses be resealed in some manner vs. replacing the entire housing?

I think they are old school bulbs.

Oh ok. I have the LEDs and once water starts to infiltrate, you're effed. The bulbs start to burn out one by one. Solution: new light for $200.

I have the same issue and pulled the lens housings today. I have cleaned up the surfaces to reinstall them.

Does anyone know what adhesive would make sense for regluing the lens covers to the housing?

Any silicon should be good. Not sure what color the original one was but stick with that either it being white, black or clear
