Do you mean the orange indicator along the actual shift boot ?
That is just a plastic indicator that is under the shift plate indicator.
They have been known to dislodge from under that plate and show you're in reverse when you're in park, neutral when your in Drive....etc.....it's a fairly simple fix at the dealership.
Mine was repaired under warranty.
