Hello, I'm new here so sorry if this has been asked before. I have been running 8x18 ET30 style 281 wheels (not staggered) with 225/40 tires on my E46 for about a month and they have very good fitment. But I recently found out that you have to have the wheels and tires registered to the car but this combination is not listed in the owners manual. Would it be possible to make them legal? I live in Austria (not Australia)

Check with your bmw dealer and see if those were available for the type of e46 you have.

Hi, I already know that it wasn't, the wheels are from 2013 and the car is from 1998...

225/40 18 front and 255/35 18 rear was factory approved on 328 and 330. I am not sure about other models.

Here you have to request a printout from the local BMW dealer for approved tyre sizes and bring that to the inspection station.

Thanks. I'll probably just drive until the tires are worn and then buy some wheels that fit. I'm thinking style 135
