In WA we are still able to have radar detectors. I was looking on ECS site and they got valentine 1 system for 450 bucks. Just wondering if that would be ok to use in Australia and is that a good system? Any other recommendations...
Cheers

I am not sure if it's good for AUS, but in the US and Europe, it is one of the Top Tier radar detectors you can buy for the money

Yeah you want an escort 9500ci. It blocks out false alerts and is undetectable should you accidentally drive across the border and forget to uninstall it ;). I think you can also get a beltronics one that blocks out false alerts too. I wouldn't recommend using the laser jammers included and would instead get a laser pro park if you want to be protected against laser too. PM if you want more info :)

bel sti? isnt detectable over here..... that said (someone i know) uses bel rx65 and (theyve) never had a cop detect it when theyve been radar'd..... that said, not many city cops use pop radar.... theyre mainly stationary and lasering...... although last week (someone) had a cop laser (them) and ka band radar (them) at the same time?!? so maybe the use radar as a backup now... either way he didnt detect (they) had a detector on.

for laser jamming blinder m47 or lpp are the way to go.

valentine im not so sure about.... their early ones were detectable, but havent looked into them recently so maybe theyre improved.

Correct Assail the bel sti's aren't detectable. They have a similar head to the 9500ci's (someone i know) has used both but (he) got slightly better performance from the 9500ci. Some cops leave in car radar (ka band) running to get the speed of passing vehicles whilst the other cop lasers oncoming vehicles from the back of the patrol car. That or they just forget to turn the radar off.

I'd personally want to go the undetectable route (despite it costing more) if i were to invest in such devices.

If you need an undetectable system, go with the Beltronics STi-R or STi-R+, whatever you can get ahold of. It is a solid remote install system, so not only is it undetectable but it is also different to see. As for laser jammers, you need something powerful to cover the awkward mounting locations in the M3. I think a Blinder M47 with all 4 on the front end or a regular Laser Interceptor dual on the front end would be sufficient.
