i know some people have done it with their verts, but in all the threads i found, nobody has done it for a regular coupe or sedan. is it because there are better ways to mount a sub for sound?
i would like to put it in this location to save trunk space. bsw makes a sub that goes in the skibag/arm rest gap, but it doesn't look like it will fit in the coupe gap.
is a closed box in the trunk just a better way to get sound from a sub?

I'm not sure about the size of the ski pass thru on the sedan but I have my 10" sub mounted there in my convertible. Call BSW and ask them as I'm sure that they would know. Mine works great in my vert and I still have my trunk for other stuff. :woot:

For sure a bit extreme for most (double isobaric in each rear armrest gap), but davyhay's coupe install might give you inspiration~

Warning: You might find yourself spending 30mins (or more) reading through this most excellent journey of an install

The other (less extreme but still requiring "effort" and most likely the direction I will take) is 12vElectronics/Tom's rear deck install http://forums.bimmerforums.com/forum/showthread.php?p=13666675#post13666675

What I like about both of these is preservation of trunk space~
