I know LED for the rear lights :
1) light up faster when braking
2) supposedly last longer than halogen bulbs
3) are brighter

But I have never seen LED for the front turn signals. I think you need to add a resistor to prevent them from blinking too fast. Does anyone know if the side markers (I think they are 168 or 194) need resistors too?

Has anyone modded LED for the side and front signals? If so, please post some pics! Thanks~

I did the front turns. They're not a perfect match, but they look tons better than the stock ones. They're really easy to install, it takes about 10 mins.

are they a lot brighter than the stock ones? Was it a hassle to mount the resistors. I hear it can melt the wire if not done properly.

i did my front and rears. They blink like twice as fast, maybe i didn't hook up the resisitors correctly. But regardless I am happy with them. I couldn't deal with the amber bulbs anymore.

jyeh74: They are actually a little less bright than stock, but I think they look much better. And no, it wasn't a hassle to mount the resistors - several zipties did the job :)

WASTEDD23: If you buy the kit from Jlevi (as I did) they'll give you resistors that are plug and play with the LEDs. It's pretty simple.

resistors are just tapped in, no need for soldering. sidemarkers dont need a resistor.

NOTE!!!! HAVING HAD EXPERIENCE WITH THESE.... the BMW Design OEM tail lights are in fact SAFER and BRIGHTER, etc. BUT the front turn signals are just an LED bulb in a housing NOT DESIGNED for LEDs which in turn makes them SUPER dim in the day. they do not fill out the housing at all since they only emit light straight forward, you couldnt tell they were on the the day if you were standing to the side looking at the front signals.
