Don't do it, the thing is heavy

The stock M3 exhaust weighs like 50 llbs. Lotsa m3ers
paying big bucks for lighter exhausts just to get rid of it.
You probably don't want such a heavy piece of metal hanging
on the back of your car. There are probably better ways to
create the M3 exhaust look.

i believe the spare tirewell also acts as a safy crumple zone in accidents. dont know how that will affect the car in a crash if u cut the tire well. Also, since the exhaust will be very close to the fule tank, so insulation is needed.

Samir has done this. there wer eeven pictures of it. i'll try to dig it up.

oh yeah.. you can also kiss your resale value bye bye :tsk:

yes when you cut off the spare tire, you have to reinforce the place to strengthen it up, and the weight of the exhaust should be the same as the spare, so i doubt it will mess up the performance.

so i guess if you replace the spare with the m3 exhaust, i guess it can be used as the "new" rear end protection in case of accident :dunno:
