Guys:

Anyone knows what their car's alternator current rating
is? My car has high pitch noise problem under cold
temperature and my dealer said by replacing the
alternator, the noise went away. However, the
alternator it replaces is a 90A one instead of 120A
stock one. Both the dealer and BMW said it is good
enough since I don't have sunroof, power seat and
heated seat. Just want to get your opinion.

if your car is still under warrenty they have to put the same one you had in there before call BMWNA and tell them and they should do it for you..

My car is new and they did call BMWNA and they said the BMWNA said it is ok. The 90A alternator, they grab it from a Z3. Does anyone knows what is the max output current of the battery?

That is very lame of the dealer to replace your alternator with a lower Amp model :cartman: I'd call BMWNA and tell them you want the Alternator that the factory installed with your new car, not some hand me down 90A job...:thumbdwn: :thumbdwn:
