I am never good with surprises so I will just spill the beans...:shhh: I ordered my AA stage 2.5 kit two weeks ago. The wait is excruciating. Parts of the Kit has arrive and waiting for a few more stuff :excited:

I thought, I would create this thread to document the build.

Also when I get the kit I will have the following items up for sale:

1. aFe Stage 1 Intake Kit - E46 325i/Ci 330i/Ci - Pro5R

This aFe intake fits the following BMWs:
  • 2003-2006 E46 3 series: 325i 325ci 325xi + Wagon & Convertible models with M56 engine
  • 2001-2006 E46 3 series: 330i 330ci 330xi + Convertible
  • 2004-2006 E83 X3: X3 3.0i
2. Stett m54b30 Intake Boot (Black)
3. F1 Autohaus 325i/330i Ceramic-Metallic-Coated Headers
4. M54B30 Stock Throttle Body
5. Drop-In K&N Air Filter for Stock Intake Box.

I am excited :D I would like to Thank Viral and the AA TEAM! :thumbsup:

nice work, whats left ?
S/C Oil Cooler, Clamp Down All Hoses, Run Vacuum Lines, Oil Change, Install the Intake Part of the S/C, Mod my Driver-Side Fender :(, Extend MAF wiring, and etc...

That all sounds good. So when are you going to do the 35-70 WTQ (25-50 WHP) progressive nitrous wet shot between 2500-5000 RPM to get the torque up on your build ?

Rob :)
Working on it alittle today. Installed the Oil Cooler Bracket, Painted the Oil Cooler Semi-Gloss Black, Extended my Purge Valve Line, and now waiting on more parts to arrive before mFest! :D

Are you going to MFEST?
Trying to...

Better get on it then!

Having an Issues ATM. Shipped DME Tuesday of last week with USPS Priority Mail and got insurance on it. Try to track it online and it shows nothing :eek: Also, AA hasn't received it yet :banghead: I am going to the Post Office Monday.

I had some bad luck with USPS lately. If I'm gonna ship my DME to ESS again it will go by Fedex.
Worked on the 330 some more today and hopefully get the DME tomorrow so I can head out to MFEST! :D

Installed the Lower 90* elbow and clamped it all down.

Installed the S/C Intake Pipe.

Can see my NPT to -10an fitting with a Straight AN Barb.

Then the Valve Cover Fitting to 45* Fitting. It is a tight fit but manage to get it to work :D

The Catch can will be in the drug bin area.

Got Awesome News. :D

AA got the DME this morning safe and sound.

Viral called me today asking what tune did I needed. Told him Stage 2.5 and running 3" exhaust with gen3 type headers. :D

Then he told me that "you know u will kill the Auto tranny."

I was like yeah...lol

What is stage 2.5? Looking at AAs website I don't see how you're going to be hitting 3xxwtq, or is that just 3xxtq?

Looking forward to some videos!

2.5 is stage 2 components that includes a intercooler and .5 means methanol .. methanol if tuned for it is good for 15 whp. i could see trips bimmer putting out 355 whp and 335-340 wtq in reality. but we will see .. does he have headers and cams?

Unless methanol gains you a disproportionate amount of torque (idk) I'd doubt it's going to be 335-340wtq, considering stage 2 is listed at 285 ft lbs (crank I believe).

Not trying to be a douche I'm just confused. I should probably just wait for TrippinBimmer to respond- haha. So impatient. :eeps:
Meth is only good for 15rwhp?
:lmao:

That kit is advertised for stock motors. With OEM cats, TB and Exhaust. I will be pushing low to mid 300 WTQ and High 300 WHP. That is my goal on this stock motor. So we will see...:evil:

Meth is only good for 15rwhp?
I realize this is just a general comment, but it's a good point for me to elaborate on.

To continue on from the other thread I started yesterday:

Octane
Pump 93 = 93 Octane
E85 = 102 Octane
Methonol = 119 Octane

Auto Ignition Temp (C)
Pump 93 = 280
E85 = 365
Methonol = 470

If E85 is like pump fuel on cocaine, then Meth is speedballing.

Meth is in most cases a better fuel for FI than E85, but it isn't as easy to buy or as cheap.

Meth can be worth a LOT of power when you replace/augment the fueling of an engine consuming pump fuel with meth. The HPF kit is a good example of this, where at a certain RPM/boost threshold, the meth system activates and takes over a large percent of the fuel requirements of the engine. As RPM increases, the flow rate of the meth stays somewhat constant, (It actually decreases slightly as manifold pressure increases) and the ECU adds more pump fuel to meet the fueling demand of the engine. This is why the HPF kits have such a nice torque increase in the midrange on meth, because a major part of the engine's fuel demand is being met by Meth injection, which allows a more timing and has the side effect of lower IATs. Meth is a good thing.

Aftermarket meth kits are disigned primarily to aid in reducing IATs, not to be part of the supply of an engines primary fuel demands. So the gains you can expect to see from adding one of these kits is a lot less than if the meth system is integrated into the primary fueling of the engine as HPF have ingeneously done.

Most engine tuners hate tuning an engine to depend on aftermarket meth injection, as it is not as reliable a fueling solution as "normal" fuel systems, and the effects of even minor failures can be devastating.

So the bottom line is that you can see 100+hp gains from meth injection, but it's usually as part of the primary fueling of an engine.

I don't think +15rwhp with a basic meth kit is unreasonable, but it's certainly not the limit of what is possible with quality components, installation, and tuning.

I have complicated stage 2 aa kit in the future, the transmission is my biggest fear. I'm excited to see how you deal with that.
