Hi all,

Im hoping for some help as im a novice when it comes to sound settings although i love my hip hop bass lines so here goes...

I have a 318ci with an alpine cda-9853r headunit, amp and punch 12" inch sub woofer, im trying to set the 5 band equaliser and was hoping for some tips on nice settings...no engineer jargon though as i have read lots of website info and nothing is going in??

Now the true use of an "EQ" is to flatten out the response in the listening area. You would play a noise track while using a RTA and adjust the EQ.

Now we all now that most people use an EQ as an aux tone control. (need more bass, so increase the 120hz slider)

What I would suggest is to set the radio tone controls to "0" and then adjust the EQ until the music sounds balanced to you. (use more than one song from several artists) Then you can use the tone controls on the radio to adjust for individual songs that have too much or too little bass / treble.
