How would a 330i do agaist a Infiniti G35 sedan with a 6-spd manual?
Too bad the same cars infiniti puts out in the US are badged as Nissan in Japan... So... you really CAN call an Infiniti a rebadged Nissan.TheDream21479 said:Also, you can't really call an Infiniti a rebagded Nissan anymore...the product lines are completely different with the death of the QX4. Heck...the new FX45 is faster than the BMW X5 4.6is and costs about 40,000 dollars less! And it looks awsome! The G35 is a great car...and Infiniti dealers are reknown for their excellent customer service (sadly something that a lot of the BMW dealers are not known for)...you can't go wrong either way! As far as BMW being classier goes? I don't think I agree as much with that statement now...the G35 (especially the coupe) looks just as classy to me!
i would also probably go w/ the g35c if i had to buy a new car today; $10K is a lot of money.funkeycold said:If I had to choose between either, I'd choose the G35 simply because of the lower price. Yeah, it may not have the BMW prestige or the quality, but then again, some people don't like the BMW quality/fit/finish. But since I got my used 2001 330i for $32,000 out the door, and a brand new one costs more than that, I am staying with the BMW. Otherwise, if I was buying new it would be G35 all the way.
:lmao: :lmao: I don't think so in terms of safety. unless you can prove me wrong.andy323ci said:the G35 coupe/sedan have both rated higher in safety and driver feedback than the 3 series have. its hard to admit the 3 series have officially been beaten.
Jaimito said:FYI, Nissan is not a Japanese car company anymore. Got bought off by Renault many years ago. The CEO is a Brazilian or something.
No more rice jokes, jap scrap talk...not!

Renault owns only 44% of Nissan. Nissan cars are stilled mostly designed in Japan, by Japanese engineers...how is it not a Japanese car company?
I think the reason why you thought he was from Canada was you got him mixed up w/ me, I'm from Canada! :thumbup:Badger said:jp323i: Actually it is about $30K diference. If you noticed he is from Canada. Fully loaded FX45 here is $69,000 (includes frieght). Fully loaded BMW 4.6is is $97,300 (does not include frieght). Warranties are the same but you are right about the maintenance warranty do that would drop the difference a bit. It should be noted that there are several things you can get on the Infiniti that you can't get on the BMW (DVD Entertainment System, Keyless Go, Intelligent cruise control, Rear view monitor)
Rollover is 1 component of several (5 total) in their tests. The 3-Series has had excellent results in both NHTSA & IIHS (Insurance Institute for Highway Safety) tests. In fact, the IIHS rated the 3-Series a "Best Pick".snorlax said:the nhtsa (national highway traffic and safety administration) has tested the g35 and ranked higher in the final rollover rating.
Well, almost all the new Japanese cars these couple years have better safety ratings than the BMW 3 series. The new accord beats it in every category in all the tests I've seen, and the civic is at least equal to the 3 in terms of safety....but these are new cars, and the 3er was made years ago, so of course it's safety ratings are not the best. But considering it's still above average after all these years shows how good the engineering was. Oh, and both the G35 sedan and coupe got better ratings in the NHTSA( i think it was them) test. But once again, new car vs old car. That's not really fair.snorlax said:the nhtsa (national highway traffic and safety administration) has tested the g35 and ranked higher in the final rollover rating.
Yeah BMW wont change their models on you.. doh! that happened to many of us who bought 323/328's. ANd then another slap in the face with the facelifted 3er's. I was screwed by BMW twice. My car was only the "recent" model for one year!!!!NeoE46 said:The other problem is that it is Japanese. The body style will probably change in a year or two and while the original may be good, quality in the long run will suffer.
I say E46 all the way!!
They most certainly are not...the US Infiniti lineup is completely different than the Japanese Nissan (and US Nissan) lineup. That was one of the first promises Nissan/Ghosen made with the US buyers..that there will be no more rebadging of cars.Too bad the same cars infiniti puts out in the US are badged as Nissan in Japan... So... you really CAN call an Infiniti a rebadged Nissan.

This is probably one person who has never driven an NSX...One drive in a german car and you'll never go to a japanese, it's a true fact ask any german car owner.
