Quite a good recap of this year!
Few years ago (2020 if I recall), I went for my airbag recall. They only did my passenger airbag (they told me they couldn't do my driver side airbag because the VIN said it came with the square airbag, and not roundIt shouldn't matter what steering wheel is in the car vs what it came with. It's more about the VIN in the system. They should replace whichever style airbag, as they are all recalled. The early square wheels are the latest to be recalled.
I genuinely forgot how terrible the square airbag wheels are (especially the steering wheel controls), its a bit of an odd hand placement just to press them. Doesn't help that I have small hands.Ditto, if I have a round bag wheel that needs an airbag I make sure that's in the car getting done and then trash the square bag.
Safety is safety, period. I'll double check with my service manager, but I don't think we've ever not completed a recall because the steering wheel didn't match what the VIN said was OE. We just get the airbag that fits the car from parts.Few years ago (2020 if I recall), I went for my airbag recall. I asked a good friend of mine a few months ago who worked at BMW at another dealer, and essentially said the same thing.
Could depend on dealer, idk.

Soon as I got home, I yanked the square wheel out and put a spare sport wheel I had laying around. (I put my M3 wheel in the vert).
That's my dream color for a wagon - do it!I'm currently eyeing toward wrapping it Gloss Midnight Purple (I am quite a sucker for purple.)
I saw this on Reddit the other day (Mora Metallic) Vert! That's my dream color for a wagon - do it!
Everytime I see Alex's pop-up on his YT videos I feel a bit of that 'fizz' James May used to talk about haha
Unfortunately, ECS sent one wrong wheel, that is 5x112 and 66.6 Hub.Can't wait to see the wheels on the car. I saw some LM's the other day and get tempted.
Very True!Well, as a positive you already need some paint work from the accident, so rolling the fenders before that will only add one fender to the paint list.
Im running 18x8.5 ET35 with now a 5mm spacer, and im lowered compared to you.I'm running 18x9 ET30 with 245/35-18 without rolling fronts. I've never had any rubbing issues there with stock Sport suspension. I can't remember what you're running though.
The lowering may have some impact, but as your last image shows we equal out on offset and I'm still poking more due to the wider wheel.Im running 18x8.5 ET35 with now a 5mm spacer, and im lowered compared to you.
