Hi there

I hope someone can help. I went away for two weeks and left my car in this horrendous weather, now my hood has seized up and will not budge when I press the hood down button. Will this cost me a bomb to get repaired or is there something I can do with a can of WD40? (car is 02 plate but in A1 condition)

You mean convertible roof would not open? Is there red light flashing in the button when you press it?
Do you have INPA or similar bmw diagnostics hardware to use? You can read fault codes under roof module.

You may be able to kickstart it by using the manual override. Get it started and then the pump may take over.

You need to tell us if the button lights are on, and if so what color, and are they flashing.
Honestly I'd consider leaving it up for now.
If you are handy you might be able to fix it cheap. Otherwise it will be expensive.
WD40 will not help

What is the temperature there, I believe there is a cold temperature range that the top will not function.
