So I'm curious about the fitment of this configuration... will either (or both) the fronts/rears in this size rub on my car? Stock vs. my new set:

225/45/17 & 245/40/17 on 17x7.5 and 17x8.5 wheels
235/40/18 & 255/35/18 on 18x8.0 and 18x9.0 wheels

I'd really like to hear from someone who may have this config now on their 3'er. Thanks.

I don't have that exact setup...What I do have is Breyton 18x8.5(ET44) with 225x40 tires on a 323i stock sport suspension....The 235x40/255x35 setup should work providing the offset of the wheels are correct. You also may have to use spacers in order to make the Miglia fit properly, which is not a great idea. That's the reason why I went with Breyton wheels. Breyton's are made especially for BMW's and they fit perfectly without the use of spacers.. Also, the proper setup for E46 with stock sport suspension is 225x40x18x8 front and 255x35x18x8.5 rear....When my 225x40's wear out, I am going with 235x40's all around with AVS ES100's... The 225's are a little too small for the 8.5" wheels....

depending on the offset...my blitz technospeed was 18x9 with offset +44, I you run 18x9.5 with say offset +46 or so, you should have no problems.
