Guys, I want to use up my OEM tires when I change to the M68 rims. DO you think I'll have any problem with the rear M68 rims at 8.5x17"? Will the overall diameter of the wheel be off due to the offset?

Please advise.

Nope.. you'll even have a better handling care due to less understeer.

But people that usually have 8.5 rims, want atleast 235's on there.

Thanks 330iGt

I take that people w/ 8.5" rims want to have 235+ mainly due to looks? My main concern is fittment and safety. So the 225's will fit on 8.5" no problem I guess?

This sounds good...

Are the M68's better than the Type 96's in anyways? Becos it certainly looks smaller than the Type 96.

People go for 235's on 8.5's for rim protection and looks. The M68's weigh approx the same, even though they are wider than the 96's, so that's a plus.

But as far as fitment, it should fit on there just fine, call up tirerack just incase you need a second opion on things.

Good luck.

I have the M68 wheels, 7.5 fronts, 8.5 rears... all are wearing 225/45/17 Bridgestone rubber with no problems... Ideally, to protect the rim better, you can get 245/40/17 on rears... but 225/45/17 is totally fine.... I have no problems at the moment

BTW - M68 is a very nice rim !!!
