I am new to BMW game but have Ben learning about cars all of my life. Why do you old timers recommend I start with to increase performance?

Maintenance over mods is the consensus around here. Miles? Coolant system overhaul? Vanos seals? Your not going to get any big gains out of it unless you go F/I. If that's not your cup of tea you can do an intake, Schrick cams, catless headers and a custom tune and see probably around 25-40whp increase.

Your car is fast enough, trust me. If you want to race or go to the tracks, then save for an M or something similar. There is no way you can go any faster than 100 mph in NJ, and your car can do more than that. Do the proper maintenance, and it'll be the best car you've had in your life. Enjoy cuz def is a nice car. :thumbsup:
