Well, my 2001 330I now has 32k miles on it. I tried getting new brakes from the dealership but they said no go. They claim that my front pads have 80% left and the rear ones have 50%. Damnit! I've heard of people going through pads like crazy here. Yet, I cant seem to wear mine down! Any ideas? If I go past the 36k mark, I will have to pay for them on my own. I'd much prefer to have BMWNA pay the bill. I wonder if I should start thinking of extending the full maintanence and pay the extra $400.

I believe the dealer replaces your pads when the brake wear indicator comes on. If that's the case just manipulate the sensor. I haven't replaced mine so I don't know what it looks like but according to some the sensor shorts out when the pad thickness gets down to a certain level.

Why not just be happy that your pads are wearing well.:dunno: Don't abuse your brakes just to get some new pads at the dealer's expense. Chances are they will last you for quite a while.

My 2001 325it was just into the front wear sensors at 12k miles. Go to a few driving schools and you will need new pads after 2 track days.
