So here i am sitting at a party with some old high school friends and i get a call from my buddy's little sister saying my car got backed into by this 16 year old girl in a Lexus SUV in her driveway (Effing b!tch, learn how to drive... I'm not bitter)... After that phone call, tequila shots were.... necessary.
Anyways to turn a negative experience into a positive I decided that I would replace the trunk with a vorstiener CSL one since this would be done in the future anyways and why not get a free paint job with her insurance money... Hey why repaint the old trunk if you can repaint the new one?
Before all this happened I had planned on upgrading the shifter as well. So AutoSolutions it was. I also got rouge tranny mounts and royal syncromax fluid. So today the trunk came in... and I have to say it is seriously impressive. I got the double sided carbon fiber one.
So here is what the shipment looked like right when i opened it.
<a href="http://s17.photobucket.com/albums/b97/JaredSilver/?action=view¤t=IMG_2772.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i17.photobucket.com/albums/b97/JaredSilver/IMG_2772.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>
I was pleasantly surprised to find the little things that make a buyer feel special for spending such a ridiculous sum of cash on the 'real deal' product... ie: the "Authenticity Card" or, in the words of the late George Carlin, "BULLSH!T!!!" ie: Novelty items that cost the company little to nothing to produce, but at the same time somehow justify the ass raping you took by getting the legit product over the cheap eBay knock off...
<a href="http://s17.photobucket.com/albums/b97/JaredSilver/?action=view¤t=IMG_2783.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i17.photobucket.com/albums/b97/JaredSilver/IMG_2783.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>
Either way it seems like Vorsteiner really wants you to know that this product is actually produced by them due to the abundance of Authenticity stickers on the thing... haha
<a href="http://s17.photobucket.com/albums/b97/JaredSilver/?action=view¤t=IMG_2782.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i17.photobucket.com/albums/b97/JaredSilver/IMG_2782.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>
<a href="http://s17.photobucket.com/albums/b97/JaredSilver/?action=view¤t=IMG_2780.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i17.photobucket.com/albums/b97/JaredSilver/IMG_2780.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>
<a href="http://s17.photobucket.com/albums/b97/JaredSilver/?action=view¤t=IMG_2786.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i17.photobucket.com/albums/b97/JaredSilver/IMG_2786.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>
So the thing is packaged well enough... and when you get the copious amount of bubble wrap off your 1500 trunk... the product is impressive to say the least.
<a href="http://s17.photobucket.com/albums/b97/JaredSilver/?action=view¤t=IMG_2773.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i17.photobucket.com/albums/b97/JaredSilver/IMG_2773.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>
<a href="http://s17.photobucket.com/albums/b97/JaredSilver/?action=view¤t=IMG_2784.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i17.photobucket.com/albums/b97/JaredSilver/IMG_2784.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>
<a href="http://s17.photobucket.com/albums/b97/JaredSilver/?action=view¤t=IMG_2785.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i17.photobucket.com/albums/b97/JaredSilver/IMG_2785.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>
The weave is absolutely flawless polished to perfection, and sad because I'm going to paint over most of it. And, by the way, SUPER LIGHT. The delivery guy asked me if anything was in the box haha.
<a href="http://s17.photobucket.com/albums/b97/JaredSilver/?action=view¤t=IMG_2788.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i17.photobucket.com/albums/b97/JaredSilver/IMG_2788.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>
Believe it or not Vorsteiner has created a product that actually got me really excited and somehow i am able to justify getting the double sided one, maybe because I spent the money to get the M3... donno why i should cheap out now on the mods... plus i plan on keeping the car for a while and taking my time with it...
Outside in natural light:
<a href="http://s17.photobucket.com/albums/b97/JaredSilver/?action=view¤t=IMG_2793.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i17.photobucket.com/albums/b97/JaredSilver/IMG_2793.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>
And here's an artsy-fartsy photo:
<a href="http://s17.photobucket.com/albums/b97/JaredSilver/?action=view¤t=IMG_2792.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i17.photobucket.com/albums/b97/JaredSilver/IMG_2792.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>
So is the AutoSolutions SSK sent to me by Ronald over there... nice guy to do business. The product looks great and feels really solid... Obviously I'll tell you more when it is installed Duh...
<a href="http://s17.photobucket.com/albums/b97/JaredSilver/?action=view¤t=IMG_2795.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i17.photobucket.com/albums/b97/JaredSilver/IMG_2795.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>
Rouge Tranny mounts:
<a href="http://s17.photobucket.com/albums/b97/JaredSilver/?action=view¤t=IMG_2797.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i17.photobucket.com/albums/b97/JaredSilver/IMG_2797.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>
and Transmission Fluid:
<a href="http://s17.photobucket.com/albums/b97/JaredSilver/?action=view¤t=IMG_2796.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i17.photobucket.com/albums/b97/JaredSilver/IMG_2796.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>
To go with the SSK update i also updated my interior a little bit. LeatherZ is quite an impressive company. I order, they make quickly and with precision, and ship to me quickly. This makes me happy. Check it out. Black Alcantara with Cinnamon stitching (to match the seats) and the illuminated shift knob with black alcantara to match the boot. I got the matte finish on the knob to match the e-brake handle and pedals.... I think it flows well. When the new SSK is installed the shifter will be about 3/4 inches lower.
<a href="http://s17.photobucket.com/albums/b97/JaredSilver/?action=view¤t=IMG_2694.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i17.photobucket.com/albums/b97/JaredSilver/IMG_2694.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>
So that is it for today. I will keep you all updated with what is going on! I am very excited to see how it all turns out.
